Sunbathers 2022 - Present

I’m fascinated by the quiet honesty of people at the beach—the way they relax and just exist. I love the sense of sincerity that seems to emerge when we’re at the beach. We can’t hide, our masks fall and there’s an ease to simply being ourselves.

Against the vastness of the sand, human figures become reminders of both our smallness and our place within something so much larger than ourselves—something we are all connected and intertwined within.

A collection of sunbathers and momentary human interactions observed from a bird’s eye view. (Mixed media paintings with acrylic and pastel.)
